In God We Trust

I read about this the other day, maybe yesterday it was.  Anyway…

Feds Force Okla. Bank To Remove Crosses,

Bible Verse

Federal Examiners Say Religious Decoration Inappropriate

Yeah, the FED told a bank that all of it’s Christian/Christmas, items must be removed.  That they (the bank) had violated some regulation.

Then the FED tortured up a spin on the regulation to justify it.

Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, “…the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication … express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion.”The feds interpret that to mean, for example, a Jew or Muslim or atheist may be offended and believe they may be discriminated against at this bank. It is an appearance of discrimination.

I didn’t read that the bank had been complained about, as these horrid, “sensitive”, all-inclusive, sharia law desiring, I’m better-than-you-because I have decided that I am enlightened, Christian bashers have been doing regarding any and everything Christmas.

Apparently this got a huge response, as it should have.  I know that I was disgusted when I read about it.

It also reminded me of a time just after 911.  When all of a sudden we were not allowed to display Christmas decorations of any type on our desk, or even on our person.

The Company (an international giant) “has provided an appropriate holiday display, which the Company feels fairly represents the season, and the various symbols typically on display at this time of the year.  It has been set up in the employee break room for your enjoyment.”

This period also just so happened to correspond with a sudden influx of muslim garbed new employees.  I found it strange that prior to 911 I had not seen any muslims in the workplace, or indeed, in our whole community.

I found it insulting in the extreme that employees were no longer allowed to even have a SNOWMAN on their desk as it may upset “an employee that has a different religious background”.   Even the vegan agnostic thought it was too much.

It was intended to insult us.  To insult us and force us to eat the insult.  We have to work, right?  So, we were forced to alter our traditions in silence to keep our jobs.  No feedback allowed.  Didn’t stop me from trying though, and I got the canned speech and the write up, and we all got marched into a “sensitivity seminar”.

Bah, humbug!

This is where it began, in the workplace.  At Christmastime.  It makes it all so easy for the anti-Christian/anti-Jewish, pro sharia law types.  It was the sensible place to begin.  Once that victory was under the belt, on to the public places, and the markets, and the banks, ect.  All places where the public might enter will be thus controlled, and our acceptance is in our acquiescence.

But this time people fought back.  About damn time!

Republicans rip the Fed after examiner tells

Okla. bank to hide religious items

By Peter Schroeder – 12/17/10 05:25 PM ET

The Federal Reserve quickly withdrew an order to an Oklahoma bank to remove religious items from public view on Friday after two Republicans blasted the action as an “assault on faith.”

Sen. James Inhofe and Rep. Frank Lucas of Oklahoma sent a pointed letter to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke on Friday asking him whether he stood by a Federal Reserve examiner who told Payne County Bank officials to remove the religious references from their business. The Fed examiner told the bank the religious items could discourage a person from seeking an application.

  1. Ladysforest,

A very well-put post. I just linked it in the comments to this:

I’ll repeat part of what I said there:

I don’t remember all this need to cover up Christmas when we had large numbers of basically peaceful, Buddhist Vietnamese immigrants.

Thanks for your great blogging this past year!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God save our country.

    • God Bless you and yours Larry, and Merry Christmas !

And God save our country indeed.

We will need to do our part ~ we will need to stand and be vocal, just as loud and insistent as those that are against our Christmas traditions and Christianity. We will need to be forceful and intolerant of what is being done to us.

  2. Praise God…We Won!!!!

After National Outcry, Fed Reverses Anti-Christian Bank Decision in OK

    • Yes. Enough people became engaged and enraged, and it WORKED !!!

We need to do this every time, we need to get loud and proud LOL ! 🙂

Merry Christmas Kathy, and God bless
