If It Quacks Like A Duck

There was much speculation about the reason the BP oil rig blew up nearly five months ago. No reason has yet been found. Before anything else was done, obama imposed a moratorium on oil drilling. Well, not exactly the first thing he did, first he refused the help that was offered to us from other countries.

From MM. I’ll ad the link to the balance of the article. I WILL ALSO ADD THE INFO ABOUT THE EXPLOSION ON ANOTHER OIL RIG. TIMING IS EVERYTHING, IS IT NOT?

Another ass-kicking: Judge rejects Obama drilling ban again

By Michelle Malkin • September 1, 2010 01:53 PM

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and the Obama job-killing machine get kicked in the ass one more time. They wanted federal judge Martin Feldman to dismiss the drillers’ lawsuit challenging their original moratorium. No dice.

Via Reuters:

A federal judge in New Orleans rejected on Wednesday the U.S. government’s request to dismiss a lawsuit challenging its original 6-month deepwater drilling moratorium…The drilling halt was subsequently amended, so the government sought to toss out the Hornbeck lawsuit, arguing it was no longer relevant.

But U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman, who earlier this summer blocked the first drilling halt, said in a 20-page ruling that the government’s amended moratorium offered “no substantial changes” from the first one.

Balance of that article is at the link above.

// <![CDATA[// VERMILION BAY, LA (WAFB/AP) – An oil platform exploded and burned off the Louisiana coast Thursday, the second such disaster in the Gulf of Mexico in less than five months.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Bill Coklough said Mariner Energy, Inc., the Houston company that owns the rig, had deployed three firefighting vessels to the site and one already was in place fighting the blaze. The Coast Guard had reported that a 100-foot-wide oil sheen had been spotted near the platform, but now says there is no sign of an oil leak.

According to the Coast Guard, 13 people were on the platform when it caught fire Thursday morning. All 13 are accounted for and one injury was reported.

The workers will be taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma by helicopter to be fully checked out.

The rig is located about 90 miles south of Vermilion Bay.
