I Feel Pretty, Oh So Pretty!

I liberated this image from over at Lame Cherry, cause it’s perfect.

“Question with boldness. Hold to the truth. Speak without fear.”

Today Lame Cherry had a post up about Glenn Beck.
In that post was mention of Glenn Beck dissing the “Birthers” on his radio program.
Here’s the snip; “Birthers are the dumbest thing Glenn Beck says he has ever heard………….”
This doesn’t surprise me.  Are you surprised by that?
Lame Cherry makes a fantastic point in that members of the “press” are primarily shills for big bucks.
But lets not forget the most important thing to dudes like Beck.  It’s not the news, it’s not getting the facts out to the people so that they can have an honest source.  It is instead,  The Mirror.  He’s not so hot, but seeing himself through the eyes of his loyal audience, he’s a stunner.  To himself.
I’ve noted the progression over the past year.  It was a wonder to me why so many of these pussy press pretty, oh so pretty, persons would not touch what was a growing and very valid question.
Don’t the reporters usually look for answers for questions?  No, they usually look for the best camera angle.  But it isn’t just as simple as all that.
They buy into a belief that they know more than all of those common Joes who listen to them know.
Sure they do.  They have a fricken  staff that pulls it all together for them, does the leg work and the research, brushes their pretty hair and tells them where to stand.
Here ya go:

“I have to tell you, are you working for the Barack Obama administration?” Beck scoffed. “I mean, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”

The ongoing dialogue then spun off into ridicule as Beck caricatured those who question the sitting president’s eligibility with straw-man arguments reminiscent of jibes made by Obama’s apologists in other news outlets.

Beck defined birthers as people who believe Obama was born in Kenya or other foreign country, was raised as a Manchurian candidate and somehow brainwashed Hillary Clinton into not exposing his fraud. According to Beck’s running joke, birthers believe someone – maybe Obama’s KGB “control” – preemptively placed Obama’s birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a “roadmap” of getting an African man into office.

As for Obama producing a long-form birth certificate to actually prove his place of birth, Beck questioned, “Why do that when these people [‘birthers’] are so discrediting themselves?”

The radio host further argued that by distracting the public from actionable issues, “birthers” have become “a dream come true” for Obama, an ideal situation akin to the fantasies of adolescent boys after Hollywood bombshells.

We need to wise up here children.  And fast.  We are on our own-except for the bloggers.  I don’t mean my variety of blogger, I’m just a conduit with a couple of poorly expressed opinions.  I mean the tireless, incredibly well informed, articulate, straight up American bloggers.
I got wise to Glenn Beck months back.  It was the way that he behaved about the 9/12 March on Washington DC that convinced me that he was just a mug lookin for it’s mirror.
Here he was, on camera, saying over and over that he wasn’t promoting the thing, but acting exactly like he was.  That’s not so bad in itself.  What I caught was this little gleam in his eye – as if he didn’t believe for one minute that anyone would show up there if he himself didn’t promote it. And he’d pretend,  just so that on the surface the grassroots movement could look genuine, that he wasn’t the one who  had caused every last Patriot to attend.  He has that much power over his listeners.
I noticed at the Great March that many people seemed convinced that Beck would put in an appearance, he had said something to that effect on his show.  But no Beck.  OK.  No big deal as he stated that he didn’t want the liberals to believe the people followed him there, but that it was truly a grassroots thang.   It was enough that Beck believed it himself.  So, not only does he not show up at the March, but he plays down the actual numbers of people that did go.
When guys like Beck think they’ve got ya, they begin to lose respect for those they have influence over.  Like the guy who finally gets the hot chick to date him, then she wants to go steady with him.  Now he sees her as easy and weak and treats her badly.
Beck is busy sounding busy.  Watch him closely as he bounds around the stage, flinging magnets, boiling frogs, leaking visine from the corners of his pretty eyes.  Watch him.  Then close your eyes and listen.  Very little is ever concluded.  There is a whole lot of stay tuned for the rest of the shocking disclosure crap, but instead ya end up in a weird loop.
The Beck coverage of the  DC March was like a big ole let down to bunches of good folks.  It seemed like a set up of sorts.  He got on the coat tails of one  hell of a powerful movement and then down played the event.  Anyone who was really sincere about that day, about what it meant,  would not have acted the way Beck did.
Anyone who respects his audience would not insult them by calling their legitimate concerns “dumb”.
Anyone with intellect and sincerity would acknowledge that the fact of obamas dual citizenship is not in question and presents a Constitutional conundrum that must be addressed.  That the liberals do their best to hide the British at birth fact under the slanderous “dumb birther” jibe is not surprising, that persons like Beck do it is insulting in the extreme.
If we want that kind of treatment we can just tag along behind Nancy P. and Barney Frank.
Please sir, may I have some more?
