Taking The Cain To Newt Gingrich
Like a lot of you out there I have been very surprised by the incredible character assassinations that most of our republican primary candidates have been subjected to. By our own side.
I mean all of them but for Romney and Ron Paul. “Silly Uncle” Ron Paul is basically treated with kid gloves, as befitting the doddering old gentleman with the suicidal foreign policy ideas. Ya just kind of want to pat him on the head and tuck him up under a patchwork quilt, don’t you?
So, this leads us to wonder who is behind all of the vicious attacks. The one against Cain for example. Cain is by all appearances, a wonderful man. Not, in my personal opinion, a man actually prepared to run for the presidency, but a terrific guy who has extremely impressive accomplishments, and favorably impressed millions of people. But someone didn’t want to take the risk that Mr. Herman Cain could steal the thunder. Maybe Romney, the “front runner”, didn’t like running second fiddle to a new comer who had no political acumen.
Then all of a sudden the “bimbo avalanche” began.
That handed the radio guys a two-fer. They got to subtly bash Cain, while pretending to be outraged at the terrible and “unsubstantiated” bimbo attacks against the man. They herded Cain around the big spin corral, the whole time pretending to be on his side. They kept those bimbos in your face nearly every second of their daily time slot.
After the first couple of women emerged, we all knew it would not stop until Cain dropped out. Cain was ruining the Romney “most electable” meme. Oh, the talk radio guys were wonderfully supportive to Cain. Oh, how they lamented the despicable tactics of “the left”. But they never explained why the left was worked up over Cain, who had about as serious a shot at the nomination as does Ron Paul. These guys knew, knew – that there was no way Cain would be able to hang in there. Cain simply wasn’t well enough prepared on too many levels. BUT, Cain was destroying the Romney myth, and Romney couldn’t trash him the way he did to Perry. Nor would Cain helpfully fumble for words in the first batch of debates, making himself appear too gaffe prone to be taken seriously.
To seem balanced during their destruction of Herman Cain, the radio guys would occasionally focus a moment or two on Romneys Achilles heel , oh yes, by mentioning Romneycare, but quickly back to Cains’ blond bimbo eruption. !!!!
Before you knew it, Herman Cain was out, and Romney was back in the lead with his unchanged, but unimpressive, 25% (ish).
Now Newt is getting the treatment. Unrelenting, character trashing, hysterical reactions to his win in South Carolina and sharp rise in the FL polls.
Listen, I want to ask those of you who read this to keep your own counsel. Do not fall for the hype again. Understand that Romney has NO numbers with the public, but the establishment wants him so badly, that they will viciously destroy men like Cain and Perry and now Newt.
Drudge, Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Cupp, on and on,….. republicans all of them. You know why I KNOW this is orchestrated? For the same reason that you do. The volume, the intensity, the timing. And it just feels so contrived.
Understand that good, level headed people are out here trying to stave off the attackers, those would be assassins of the Gingrich campaign.

I have been doing this as well – two posts at my Blogging Right Along site today, “Very Annoying” and “Drudge is Part of the Annoying Crowd as Well,” and linking back to the Professor’s own post on “Drudge Versus History.” We all must do our part to make sure that these Beltway people, establishment Rep. and pundits don’t force another “inevitable” Obama on us with Rino Romney. Oooof! These debate questions are all aimed to knock Newt. Especially this “first wife” question. Low blow. Newt is the only one with multiple wives.
If you listened to Rush today he was surprised at the assault and how it really appeared to be coordinated to knock Newt out. I really dispise Romney because he is a total puppet. Here is a man that has not one thought on the tip of his tongue. Newt is his own man. His own ideas. I think we have had enough of the puppet masters.
One problem when Rush does that is he is generally in the middle of reciting/mentioning the attacks – and he doesn’t attempt to refute them. It is a very sardonic tactic.
Like saying how
“bad this all looks for Newt, oh my, soooo much negative information that is SUDDENLY being brought out, how can anyone defend Newt against it? Well, then you look at Romney, and sure he’s got that Romneycare thing, but this stuff about Newt is so huge, I mean, it’s bound to bring his poll numbers crashing to the single digits! Sure, Romney may not inspire the base, but this information about Newt will absolutely cripple the Gingrich campaign. I don’t see how he can hope to live this stuff down.”
That kind of crap. Mind games.

I had a long talk with a freind the other night. She told me I better prepare myself for another 4 years of Obama.
If Romney is nominated we will have obama for four more years. I think that is exactly what the establishment is trying to set up. It’s why I want Newt.
BTW, it seemed to me he (Newt) was somewhat rattled the last two debates – sort of like someone got to him. He didn’t have his usual confidence and focus. He seemed flustered. I don’t think it’s the negative press – he’s had that from the beginning, he looked kind of, oh, spooked.

Yes tdr, but I was wondering if his recent big donor didn’t attach some strings – Newt seems a bit spooked since the word came out about the 5 mil that a supporter was donating. Maybe it was conditional. Hard to know what goes on.
In all this talk of money, I did a post today on the Democrat talking point of fair share of taxess and, hopefully, pretty much debunk it. I, unfortunately, had to use Rino Romney as part of the answer to “unfairness” questions raised by a video of Al Sharpton and Rep. Tim Huelskamp on Breitbart TV.
True, Romney has done nothing wrong. It’s just that his style of earning his living is not what the average person considers to be free market capitalism. It’s perceived more as based on who you know, favors, tips, etc. Crony capitalism. Sure, an average guy with $100. a month to venture can maybe build it into an empire, but that is an extreme rarity.
It’s guys like Romney, who went to the right schools, know the right people, get the right tips, that “earn” this kind of money. It’s all above board, legal and fine. I don’t begrudge him or his family what they have. I just don’t care for how he paints himself as the “one” who has the experience in business to put the little guy back to work. I don’t see his business experience as having anything remotely to do with the real Main St. business people.
And the occupy/recipient class of people are so brainwashed by this whole concept that “fair share” will punish the people they target, that there is really no way to defend against their clamoring.
I don’t think most of them even really care – they are too shallow for that – it just makes them feel a type of power when they are angry, and they feed on that. It seems “noble” to hate someone who has plenty while others have less. But it’s rarely the truly poor that are out raging around, is it? It’s because they happen to be a bit more intellectually honest than the community organizers and “occupiers”.
There was a good photo over at Legal Insurrection where a flyer was calling for an OWS-style meeting. The person who took the photo then wrote her own addition to the flyer: OccupyDesk.org!
She showed a great deal of restraint.
